Barton Creek
A small waterfall near the end of the Barton Creek Greenbelt. I was drawn to the smooth curves as the water fell over the limestone rocks contrasted with the rough whitewater below.
I just couldn't think of a clever title for this photo. This is my wife riding our horse Kai this afternoon.

Bull Elk Bugling

I was only about 20 feet from this Bull Elk in Rocky Mountain National Park. When I got over next to him I immediately wished I had brought my flash, he was in the shadows and the background was very brightly backlit. I probably could have run back to the car and gotten back with the flash, but part of me was also a little nervous about flashing a bull elk from that close in the middle of the rut. Plus a Park Ranger was yelling at me to move my car :)
This big bull elk had around 30 females with him. I took this in Rocky Mountain National Park.
A storm spilled over the top of the ridge to the left just after I took this shot. It was on Highway 14 approaching Cameron Pass in Colorado.
An old shack that I drove by on a dirt Hill Country road last summer. I think I took the shot out of my car window with a 24mm lens. I cropped away about half the picture to arrive at the above result.

Snowy Fence

This is a shot from my Christmas vacation at the family farm in Colorado, just east of Denver. We were lucky enough (for Texans) to be there during the second major snowstorm that went through the area.

I processed this shot using the new Grayscale mixer that comes with the Photoshop CS3 Beta. I then used the split-toning feature to color the highlights slightly yellow, and the shadows slightly purple. I normally prefer a slight coloration to my images rather than a neutral Black and White.
